Summer Series

Jul 4 - Sep 5

60 min   |  Prayer  |   Word  |  Worship

I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
he saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers them. (Ps. 34)

We have often spoken about our faith as being more about relationship than about religion. But what exactly does that relationship with Jesus look like? We speak to him, but does he speak to us? And, if so, what does it look like, sound like, and feel like? As we journey through life, how does our ability to hear directly from the Lord shape our character and inform our choices?

The title of the series, Martha, Martha! is inspired by the story of Jesus at the home of Mary and Martha found in Luke 10:38-42. Jesus gently rebukes Martha for bustling about and commends Mary for sitting at his feet. This isn’t to say that Jesus condemns activity; rather, the focus is on correctly prioritizing being with Jesus over doing for Jesus. We are all called to be “contemplative activists.”

Join us Sunday mornings Onsite and Online at 10a. Our summer service is typically one hour in length, including prayer, message, and worship through song.
