Here's the latest!

Fall has officially arrived in the Okanagan and with that cool mornings and some rainy days, and ...School!! Mariam is grade 2 and Abdallah is in grade 1. They are both doing very well and love being at Peter Greer. They are excited to start Pioneer Club next week, and enjoy Futureland Kids here at the church on Sundays.

Yaseen has resumed his afternoon English classes at the Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society in Kelowna. He is looking for part time employment to fill his day and hopes to be working on his driver’s license soon.

Marwa continues with her ESL classes in the home.  Maysam is resuming Strong Start offered by the school district at Peter Greer. This year we hope that Ahmad, Mohammad and Marwa will also participate.

Mother Goose at the Boys and Girls Club in town was a big hit this past week, so we hope Marwa and kids can continue with this fun program. Mohammad learned to walk over the summer and so is now putting into action all those plans he made while watching his older brothers and sisters!

Thanksgiving is coming up soon and it will be the Al Yaseen family’s first Thanksgiving in Canada. The children have 2 extra days off school that weekend. Maybe you would like to involve the family in some of your Thanksgiving plans?
