"Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need" (Hebrews 4:16).

Many of you have found ways to provide hands-on help to those in our church and our neighbours who are directly affected by the rising waters in our community.  (Sand bag stations, where people bring shovels and fill bags for people who need them, are available at Beasley Park, Brun Rd, Swalwell...)

But with more rain being predicted for tomorrow, let us also act on our faith by declaring today (Thursday, May 11) a day of fasting and prayer for Jesus to show mercy...to hold back the rain, to slow down the mountain run off...to rescue our town from further damages.  (It sounds as though many more homes, as well as our high school, are threatened.)

We are exploring options on how to make our parking lot and facility available and need to speak with the road construction crew before making any announcements.

The sanctuary will be open for prayer at 12p for those who want to physically meet together.

Let's pray!
