A couple stories from where I sit.

Recently a gentleman walked into my door and said "Do you remember me ...?"  While I could not remember his name I certainly did remember his face and the reason that he walked into the office a whole year ago.  On that day, as he was driving by the church this man came into the office with a simple request; would we be willing to pray for his son?  As the story unfolded, I could see that this was a father who cared deeply about what was happening to his adult son, who had become an alcoholic, and his life was coming "off the rails".  He told me a little about the journey that his son was on which had brought great pain to the family.  After a brief prayer, his parting words that day were "I'll let you know what's happening ..." as he left the office.

While I am glad that I took that very moment to pray for his son, I have to admit, as the memory of his visit faded so did my prayers for him. I am so glad that our God is faithful! So when this father stopped by again to express his "Thanks!" and to let me know that the situation with his son had taken a significant turn for the good. I could see in his face the peace that had replaced the anxiety; well it was one of those moments when I am so glad to have this privilege.

Another sweet moment that I would like to share, came from someone that requested benevolent help from LCA. This woman needed a dental procedure for something that was affecting her overall health. She came into the office a few days after having the work done, just to say "Thank you so much, I am feeling so much better already."  Just want to pass those words of appreciation on to you!
