The second Neighbourhood Cafe will be held Sunday, July 22nd from 1200 to 2p (approx).
There will be a list of host families and their locations in the bulletin with sign-up sheets in the foyer, and the idea is to go to the host home that is closest in location to your own.
One goal of Neighbourhood Cafe is to encourage and build healthy relations with the people that live closest to you and whom you worship alongside.  Many of us live in Lake Country because we love the small town feel, the strong sense of community, so...let's continue to foster this and be strong community supporters. My dream is that the 'hood cafe would become a block party in a sense...a time where we can welcome anyone and everyone into our homes and just be there for each other-- no judgement, no agenda, just be present for each other. We want to be known as a welcoming and genuine church, so that should be evident in our everyday interactions and not just on Sunday mornings or Thursday nights when we welcome people into our church's building. Jesus didn't avoid the tax collectors, the prostitutes, or the unclean because he was worried about falling into their ways or catching their disease...he walked with them, he ate with them, he let them know that no matter what society said, they were important and mattered to him.  Aren't we supposed to follow his example?
