LCA is looking for someone to be our next Connections Café Coordinator.
Here is what the position requires:
One time per year
o Creating a schedule of dates and meals for the coming year (Sept – May) and communicating this to the office
o Recruiting additional volunteers to help with the coming year
Monthly (or more or less depending on the time you are available)
o A couple of hours during the week prior to the meal: Emailing/calling volunteers to confirm support to set-up, meal prep and clean up - Planning the food amounts - Buying food
o 8:00-1:30pm on the Sunday of the meal. Arriving early on the Sunday morning to set-up for volunteers - Identifying set-up and food prep tasks and assigning to volunteers as they arrive - Managing the timing of the meal and clean-up
o Checking the backroom storage, fridge and freezer to make sure they stay organized.
We have a pretty good system for set-up in place and for meals that have been done over time there are lists, recipes and amounts to help with food purchasing and making of the meal. What this really needs is someone that is organized and likes to be in the background making sure that things are ready for the volunteer helpers.
